Recruiting is a sensitive business and employing the wrong person may prove expensive for the company as well as for the employee. The quality of preparation, interview and evaluation is important in order to be able to make an educated decision on whom to hire. This is not a mystic combination of intuition and tradition but also a matter of logic and technique.
Mikkel Salling, CNT from JCI Denmark have prepared a special version of his Recruiting training for the Ski Weekend. Mikkel is a professional recruiter with recruiting in the Nordics and Poland. He is a JCI member – and the 2008 EVP Operations in JCI Denmark. Mikkel have conducted trainings in Russia, Estonia, all over the Nordics and Netherlands.
The Recruiting training will be divided in two parts – the first part Friday, and the follow up on Sunday morning. Thus, you will get plenty of time to learn how to identify and hire the right candidate in your company!
* What are the VISA requirements?
Please check the VISA requirements here.
Getting a VISA is your own responsibility.
* When will it be?
The event is Friday 1. to Sunday 3. of February.
Trainings are on Friday, skiing and ski-training on Saturday, and more action on Sunday.
There will be a pre-program with a special sightseeing of Oslo Thursday. This program is free, but you will be expected to cover your own costs.
* Can we stay longer?
I would like to come a few days early, or stay a few days longer. Is that possible?
Yes it is. We can help set you up with home hospitality in Oslo, Drammen or other places in Norway. We also have access to low-price accommodation in Oslo (centrally), as well as here in Svarstad.
Please contact the COC with your requests!
* What will be the price?
the price in 2008 is €190,- per person, including accommodation, food, trainings, fun and all action.
Ski pass and beverage is not included.
We do everything we can to make the most spectacular event, at the lowest possible price.
* Do you need to be an able skier?
No. As a matter of fact, many participants has never skied before.
You will be able to participate in ski-training if you like. If you prefer not to ski at all, you will be able to luge, rest, sightseeing or just enjoy the sceneries.
* What type of terrain will there be?
The terrain is southern-Norwegian hill-side, with a salmon river and forest surroundings. The ski-slopes are short, but good quality.
* Will there be transport from Oslo?
We will arrange transport from Oslo. Either by cars, or bus.
Please note: the transportation will be Thursday 31st January evening from Oslo Center. Exact time and location will be communicated to each participant.
If you arrive Friday, we will try to help you, but most likely you will have to go by bus.
Please make sure to send your traveling itinerary to the COC well in advance.
* Where is the nearest airport?
The nearest international airport is only 45 minutes from the venue. It is called Sandefjord Torp (TRF). You may get there cheap by the low-fare companies - but you may equally well find it very expensive if choosing the conventional companies.
We will pick you up and deliver you to the Sandefjord Airport (or you can rent a car).
Your other option is to go to Oslo International Airport (OSL). This airport is located apox. 2 hours north of the venue.
Most international flights go here, so a good price should be possible to find. If you choose to fly here, you need to take the Airport Express train to Oslo Central Station.
We will arrange to pick you up and deliver you at the Oslo Central Station.
No matter your selected airport - please make sure to inform the COC when you arrive, and depart, so we can arrange for the transportation.
* Can I travel by car?
Sure you can! You are going here!
If you drive from Denmark, you may consider taking the ferry to Larvik - which is only 30 minutes by car from the venue.
If you come from south of Norway - follow E-18 to Larvik, then NR40 to Svarstad (direction: Kongsberg, aprox. 30 mins).
If you come from Oslo, or North of Oslo, follow the E18 to Drammen, then in direction of Kristiansand. After the Toll station in Sande, follow the direction to Skien (NR 40 and NR 32). From Oslo, it is aprox. 1h10mins drive, from Drammen aprox. 50 mins.
* Is there a call for papers (ie how may I become a trainer - I am CNT)?
Yes. We have a couple of training session openings. We encourage new trainers for an opportunity of their first international trainings, and we also want CLT/CNT/IG/ITF level trainers to clock international hours, and share their training expertise to less experienced trainers.
* What should I bring?
You need to bring warm, winter clothes. As a bare minimum - hot underwear (wool is preferred), a middle tier with sweater and soft-pants (fleece is great), and an outer shell that is water and wind repellent (Gore text or similar). In addition, you might want to bring a warm, isolating jacket.
For your feet's - bring wool socks or other thermo wear, as well as winter boots. There is no reason to bring city or indoor shoes - except some slippers. Shoes must be able to keep you hot and dry all day and night.
You also need head-wear and something to warm your hands.
We will be playing in the snow, so consider bringing extras.
* Can I bring a quest (JCI/Non-JCI)
Sure! The event is about networking and inter cultural exchange. If you have friends you would like to bring, please do so!
The price is per person, so each guest you bring will pay the same amount as you do.
* What can we expect?
